Ricca: “Representing Uruguay is a dream I’ve had since I was little”
The Malaguista winger analyses the call-up to his national team: “I remember my grandfather. He said that with hard work I could achieve big things.”
Part of the Uruguay line-up
“I’m delighted and very proud to be part of this line-up and represent my country. It’s amazing. The day we went to the church with the squad, when we returned to La Rosaleda, I received the call. When you get news like this, a dream I’ve had since I was little, it’s fantastic.”
Memories
“I remember my grandfather in particular, my father’s father. Some time ago he said to me that with hard work I could achieve big things. When I heard this news I remembered him. It’s wonderful for him too, he’ll be happy up there.”
Playing in Málaga CF, influential
“Coming to compete in the best League in the world has a lot to do with it. It’s a very competitive League, with a great rhythm of football. This helps a lot. I think arriving last season, adapting well and taking part in LaLiga had a lot to do with receiving the call.”
World stars
“It’s going to be incredible getting to know these world class players. Footballers who I’ve seen on television recently. They are starts of the world of football. Having them as teammates will be amazing. I must try and learn as much as I can from this class of player.”
