The senior team in the MCF Academy welcomes Loja CD tomorrow in the postponed 16th match of the season. The reserve team is currently tied at the top with Antequera CF (46 points).
The Malaguistas share pole position of Third Division Group IX with Antequera CF (both with 46 points). However, the Málaga CF reserve team has a match in hand, as match day 16 due to take place on 4th December against Loja CD, was postponed due to rainfall.
On Wednesday, Atlético Malagueño will face the Granada-based rival at the Málaga Football Federation ground, kicking off at 19:00. Manel Ruano’s boys, who remain undefeated at home with eight wins and one draw, hope to claim the three points that will allow them to occupy the top spot alone.
The Blue and Whites have already signed two new incorporations to the squad: Jack Harper, who arrived from English side, Brighton and Hove Albion, an international in Scotland’s youth ranks, who debuted wearing the Malaguista shirt scoring a goal against CD Rincón; and Sergio Galeano, an international with Colombia’s under-20s, from Granada B.
With 59 goals in favour and 15 conceded, Atlético Malagueño is the highest-scoring team, and the side to concede the fewest goals in Group IX. In addition, they are within the top 3 scoring teams in the entire Third Division, along with SD Logroñés with 65 goals, CD Calahorra with 62 (both in Group 16) and UD Poblense with 59 goals (Group 11).
The Malaguista attack shines with an average of almost three goals per game, with Kuki Zalazar and team captain, Mula as the team’s highest goal-scorers, with eight goals each. Furthermore, in mid-November, Adrián Wójcik joined the squad, having scored 10 goals in the category (eight with CD Alhaurino and two with Malagueño).
