Atlético Malagueño’s important victory in Antequera; MCF femenino's defeat by Sevilla in stoppage time; and the full house of victories in 7-a-side games, mark the weekend.
A great triumph for the reserve team in Maulí against Antequera CF. Following a goalless first half, headers into goal from Santi (0-1, 65’) and debut striker, Wojcik (0-2, 82') were enough to combat Germán’s late goal (1-2, 94') for the locals. A victory that ties Malagueño with Antequera at the top of the table, with 33 points, after 14 matches played in Third Division Group IX.
The first defeat of the season for Raúl Iznata’s girls. The Malaguistas lost by 2-3 at home against Sevilla, in a vibrant duel for the Group IV top spot in Women’s Second Division. Laura and María scored for the Blue and Whites, but Sevilla scored the winner in minute 94 of play.
An interesting derby of power took place on Saturday, with the match between Granada CF and Málaga CF broadcast live nationally on GOL. Pellicer’s boys took the lead in Granada thanks to Jony, 0-1, but the locals came from behind to take a 2-1 advantage. A goal from Joel in the final stage of play gave the definitive 2-2 draw and a well-earned point to stay up in the Group IV División de Honor juvenil rankings.
