Atlético Malagueño defeated Los Villares CF by 4-0 to regain the Third Division Group 9 spot. The ‘Juvenil División de Honor’ side drew 0-0 against Real Betis.
Atlético Malagueño defeated Los Villares CF by 4-0 in Sunday’s game held at the Málaga Football Federation ground. The match started off evenly, with both sides disputing ball possession in midfield but without creating any clear chances at goal. In minute 37 of play, Atlético Malagueño took the lead with a goal from Ontiveros. The Marbella-born player finished off a good pass by Kuki from the left wing.
After half-time, Manel Ruano’s boys took a step forward, and in minute 69 Ontiveros again overcame the rival defence with a good individual display, to allow Mauri to slam the ball into an empty target (2-0). Just two minutes later, Mauri came from behind to score again, taking advantage of possession in the area. In stoppage time, Kuki Zalazar, who returned to the pitch after several weeks of injury, scored the definitive 4-0 with a powerful shot at goal.
This victory regains the Third Division Group 9 leadership for the Blue and whites (62 points), following Atlético Mancha Real’s defeat (60 points) against CD El Palo.
