Following a day off yesterday, the Blue and Whites’ first team was back to work today at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium. The starting players from the match against Deportivo trained at a lesser intensity than the others.
The starting line-up from the Riazor trained at a slower pace than the rest of the team, who underwent a normal session for over an hour and a half. Apart from Kameni, who is pending surgery after suffering a torn meniscus in his right leg on Saturday; Chory Castro (hamstring strain in his right leg) and Roque Santa Cruz (blow to his left quadriceps) underwent therapeutic recovery treatment.
Weligton trained separately from the group, undergoing preventive work in the gym, alongside Chory and Roque, whilst Cop focused on specific training under the supervision of physical trainer, Hugo Camarero. Ontiveros, who yesterday played with Atlético Malagueño, underwent continuous running alongside fitness trainer, Enrique Ruiz. Goalkeeper, Aarón, who was also in action with the reserve team, trained at the same level as his teammate, ‘Memo’ Ochoa.
Málaga-born Real Betis player and ex-Malaguista, Francisco Portillovisited this morning’s training session. Tomorrow, Tuesday from 10:30 a.m., Málaga CF will return to training at the Ciudad de Málaga athletics stadium.
