Kilometre 5: Málaga-Girona

The second consecutive victory at La Rosaleda. José Alberto’s Málaga won three points last Sunday and are in 6th place in LaLiga SmartBank.

We check out some of the highlights from #MálagaGirona (2-0) on league matchday 5 in our usual kilometre:

Paulino, what a night!

The Malaguistas now know his name: Paulino de la Fuente. Based on hard work and technical resources of the highest level, Pau is winning over La Rosaleda. Heel kicks, rhythm changes, impossible passes, control... and goals. The winger from Cantabria scored his first official goals for Málaga. The first was pure quality, and the second, although exhausted, was overflowing with Faith. Here’s to more nights like this! Let's pose!

Undefeated at La Rosaleda

Three games without defeat and with a clean sheet at the Malaguista temple, La Rosaleda. In addition, the victory against Girona (2-0) brings the total number of minutes to 270 without conceding a goal at home. Thanks for your support Malaguistas, here’s to more!

Ambition, commitment and sixth place

They say it’s not about how you start, but how you finish. Málaga are clear about how they want to end, which we’ve seen from the outset. Ambition, commitment and an identity. José Alberto wants his team to be intense, like the atmosphere at La Rosaleda, and knows the ingredients he needs to achieve it. Whilst continuing to work hard and improve, Málaga are in sixth place, in playoff positions.

Special day for Dani Martín

Dani enjoyed a day full of emotions. His debut (player number 401 to wear the MCF jersey in an official match) with Blue and White colours, first day at La Rosaleda with a great atmosphere, and a return to the pitch after several months of recovery. Sacrifice, perseverance and a lot of dedication each day allowed him to don his gloves again and play a great match. He played again. He saved again.

11,108 Malaguistas

On Sunday we had the highest number of Malaguistas in the stands at La Rosaleda this season. Ahead of possible changes to the allowed capacity, the stadium pushed its team to victory. Encouragement, commitment and love for the Blue and White colours, it was certainly a special night. La Rosaleda, at 80 years old, was again the lifeblood of Málaga. They are those who are, those who want to be and those who will always be. They did it again, another night. Thank you, Malaguista Family!
