Málaga CF claimed the second point of the 21/22 season last Sunday following the draw at Can Misses against UD Ibiza.
The 2-2 draw with UD Ibiza featured several highlights that we review here in our classic kilometre. Ready? Steady? Go!
The captain scored the first goal
Luis Muñoz, who wore the captain’s armband at Can Misses, kicked-off the comeback with a superb goal in 63’ to put the boys 2-1 behind on the scoreboard. The Malaguista number ‘8’ opened the scoring this 21/22 season, after being the top Malaguista scorer in LaLiga SmartBank 20/21 (5 goals). Here’s to many more Luis!
Roberto’s debut
The Malaguista forward scored his first official goal to take the Blue and Whites level and bring a point back from Ibiza. Following his magnificent performance with Málaga CF’s Juvenil ‘A’ last season and his good sensations during the pre-season and league debut, Roberto got his well-deserved reward. Keep going!
The Academy, very present
Málaga CF faced UD Ibiza with a very special 11. Up to seven homegrown players from the MCF Academy were part of the starting-11. Javi Jiménez, Ismael Casas, Juande, Escassi, Luis Muñoz, Kevin and Antoñín gave their all, having felt the Blue and White colours since they were little. Not forgetting homegrown players Haitam and Roberto who came off the bench to seal the 2-2. So proud of our Academy!
A pleasure, UD Ibiza
In a charming and remodelled Can Misses, MCF played UD Ibiza’s first LaLiga SmartBank match at home in their history. The vibrant match also marked the very first time the locals and Malaguistas have met officially. We look forward to seeing you at La Rosaleda, UD Ibiza!
