Muñoz: “The more institutional peace of mind there is, the better we’ll be”
Málaga CF’s judicial administrator held a press conference this afternoon to analyse the various issues within the Malaguista entity.
For around an hour, Muñoz spoke in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda, accompanied by members of the coaching team and Málaga CF first team captains, as well as Francisco Martín Aguilar, Abdullah Ben Barek and Club department heads, with the exception of sporting director, Manolo Gaspar who was absent for personal reasons.
In his initial speech, José María Muñoz focused on two issues, fundamentally. Firstly, regarding everything related to the fans, season tickets, ticket prices, etc. And secondly, the Club's support for the LaLiga agreement with the CVC investment fund and how it will impact, above all, the infrastructure with the MCF Academy’s sports city as an absolute priority. "It may be approximately three years (the completion of the work), depending on when the funds are received," he stated.
In addition, for around half an hour, there was time for questions from the media present at the press conference. "The more institutional peace of mind there is, the better we’ll be,” said the judicial administrator in answer to one of the questions, highlighting the importance of “launching the season ticket campaign. With the loan and the sale of season tickets we won’t have any problems this season”, on a financial level.
In this regard, Muñoz provided interesting data about the Club's debt: “As of 30 June last year, we were in the red to the tune of four million euros. Now it’s positive by more than one million euros, one and a half million, approximately. The debt liability we had was higher when I arrived in February, despite a series of contingencies. Regardless of these debts and compensation, the debt is currently lower”.
José María Muñoz finished his press conference around 2pm which you can watch in the above MCFTV video.
