Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Carlos Kameni held a press conference at the Ciudad de Málaga athletics stadium following this morning’s training session, to talk about the team ahead of Sunday’s clash with Real Club Deportivo de la Coruña.
Kameni talks about the difficulty surrounding Depor’s visit to La Rosaleda on Sunday: “It’ll be a tough game, as both teams are determined to claim the three points. The fact we’re playing at home is in our favour, so we need to go all out in order to clinch victory. Deportivo is a great team, and at this point in the season there’s no time to think, just to act. We need the three points. We’re looking forward to an exciting match on Sunday at 12 p.m. in front of a full house. We’re eager to put on a great performance for our fans.”
The ‘Malaguista’ keeper discusses the high level of play shown by the team in the last two games: “We’ve had a very good season, despite some matches where we’ve fallen short. Against Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid we could have improved our performance in certain aspects and gain morale, but it’s always good to play outstanding games against the major rivals. We’re going to play a great match on Sunday.”
Kameni trusts in the solid functioning of the team in the final stage of the League competition: “We started off the season well and want to end in the same way. There are six matches left that we want to win, without looking back and without being fearful about what may happen. It’s important we look forward and secure victory on Sunday to keep earning points. If we can do that, we’ll be rewarded. We must make a greater effort and show that we haven’t lost our enthusiasm and keep working hard. It’s not been an easy season, so we mustn’t lose out after such great sacrifice and hard work. We need to give everything we’ve got in the last six games of the competition in order to end the season as well as we can.”
