Juan de Dios Rivas, ‘Juande’ as he’s known in the world of football, will remain with the Malaguista entity for another three seasons, as a professional player, rewarding his contribution to the team during the past 19/20 season. He performed well in defence in the nine matches he played in LaLiga Smartbank, providing security and professionalism despite his young age, having turned 21 in July.
The central defender from Córdoba arrived at Málaga CF in the 14/15 season in the ‘cadete’ category, moving on to the División de Honor Juvenil from 16/17 to 17/18, culminating his training at The Academy with Atlético Malagueño, where he stayed until his first team debut on 14th January 2020, playing 90 minutes in the 1-0 victory against SD Ponferradina.
At the hand of Sergio Pellicer, who has known him from a young age, he took part in nine matches in 19/20, a total of 810 minutes, in which he showed he is a central defender with many guarantees for the present and future.
With this latest move, Málaga CF strengthens its commitment to players from The Academy, and we’ll have Juande for a long time to come.
