José Alberto López held a press conference after the #MálagaLasPalmas win on matchday 17 of LaLiga SmartBank.
Firstly, he praised the rival, appreciating the work done on the pitch: “Las Palmas are the best rival to visit La Rosaleda, which says a lot about the team we have and how strong we are at home with our fans. They are amazing and I’ll never tire of saying it.”
He continued to praise the fans: “The welcome they gave us, the support for the team after the rival went level, they cheered us on and tilted the pitch in our favour towards Raúl’s goal, got three corners, one of which ended in goal. Our gameplan worked and we got the three points.”
The Malaguista coach is happy for the goal-scorers and the contribution of the entire group: “The fact Sekou and Antoñín scored, reinforcing the work they’re doing is very important. The players who came off the bench today brought a freshness to the team and good football. Everyone who steps on to the pitch competes and gives their all. We’re forming a good team, this is the path to follow.”
“We have to value what the team has done, against a rival like Las Palmas with a 30 million budget. We’re competing against everyone and now we need to focus on Burgos. We achieved our second consecutive win and are very strong at home. We need to concentrate on winning in Burgos,” he said.
He ended by analysing the goal: “We prepared it this morning and luckily it went well. We give a great deal of importance to set pieces, they bring a lot of points in this division. The corner gave us three points, we’re delighted as there’s so much hard work behind us.”
