Javi Jiménez: “I’m here to work hard and learn”

The left-back held a press conference during his official presentation as a Malaguista player: “My goal is to be available to the Club and my teammates”.

Objective, day to day

“My objectives are very straightforward. The first is to start tomorrow with the team, get to know my teammates and concentrate on enjoying this Club and the city. Then from there, everything will work out fine. My goal is to enjoy my time here and be available to the Club and my teammates”.

José Alberto and the Club, well-known

“There was a certain influence in the fact I know José Alberto. However, this doesn’t exempt me from my responsibility, I come here regardless of who I am, as a new player to work hard and learn. Of course, knowing the coach is positive, but I also know the Club and Manolo, and I think it’s an ideal place irrespective of who’s here”.

A balanced dressing room

“The seriousness depends on what’s happening at that moment, there are moments for everything. Inside the dressing room we don’t stop being people.  Just as we have our moments of seriousness, there’ll also be enjoyable times, getting to know one another and having a good time”.

A dream come true that will soon be fulfilled

“One of the most important news updates is that the fans are able to return. Football is for the people, particularly in a Club like this and how this city lives the sport. The fact that the fans can come to the stadium and enjoy themselves, hopefully that will be the case, is so important for the players, the Club and the excitement of the entire city. Above all, it’s happening as the pandemic is coming to an end”.

Message from Manolo Gaspar

“I would like to welcome you. This is an operation that has made me very excited. Since Javi left here he has had a follow-up year after year and now the time has come. I thank him for his willingness and the help that he’s given me to make the operation easier. I’m thrilled that he’s another Malaguista and that he can defend our shirt. Without further ado, welcome, Javi. Hopefully it will be a year of great success”.
