Málaga CF 21/22 is now in progress. This morning, Wednesday 7th July, from 08:00, the players and coaching team underwent the different medical checks following the return from the summer holidays.
Vithas carried out the various examinations on the squad and staff: antigen test, blood and urine analysis, electrocardiogram, eco cardio, kinanthropometry (measurement of body fat and weight), podiatric assessment and functional assessment. The cardiological examination was undertaken by Dr. Daniel Toro from Vithas Málaga, whilst the functional assessment was carried out by the Club's physiotherapists.
A total of 30 players were called-up for the medical checks; 15 with a first team registration: Dani Barrio, Lombán, Juande, Iván Calero, Ismael, Javi Jiménez, Luis Muñoz, Jozabed, Escassi, Benkhemassa, Ramón, Jairo, Hicham, Paulino and Chavarría. There were also 15 homegrown players: Gonzalo, Miguel de la Osa, Murillo, Mati, Moussa, Andrés, Benítez, Cristo, Quintana, Larrubia, Haitam, Kevin, Julio, Loren and Roberto.
Alexander González remains on holiday following his participation with Venezuela in the Copa América in Brazil.
The cardiological examination was undertaken by Doctor Daniel Toro from Vithas Málaga, while the functional assessment was carried out by the Club's physiotherapists, always under the supervision of Juan Carlos Pérez Frías, Málaga CF’s head of medical services. “There are very few clubs that have a clinic like Vithas within their stadium, where we have everything for analytics and diagnostic tests. We’re very lucky”, said Pérez Frías about the Vithas Rosaleda Medical Center, where the Malaguista team has been carrying out their pre-season medical exams since 2016.
After this first day of medical tests, the first training session will get underway tomorrow, Thursday on the pitch at La Rosaleda’s annexe at 09:00.
