Javi Gracia: “We’re ever closer to reaching our objective”

Malaguista coach, Javi Gracia held a press conference at La Rosaleda’s press room: “The important thing is to keep moving forward, there are still games left.”

Betis-Málaga

“(Betis) Are a team capable of defeating us here, although I think we played a good match and didn’t deserve to lose; but they managed to win, scored a goal and took the three points.  I think now they are a stronger team, who give away few chances to their opponents, well-balanced and with Rubén Castro who has scored more than half of the team’s goals.  I must also highlight their potential in set pieces; 41% of their goals are from set pieces.  They are very much alive in these actions so we must stay alert.”

MCF now

“It’s a good moment for us, as claiming three points like we did the other day and moving ever closer to our objective makes us happy, and shows us that we’re on the right track.  There are signs of the good atmosphere there is amongst the team, but the important factors are the work day to day, which is consistently very good; and ensuring we prepare well for the next match, which will help us to remain calm over the next two weeks, if we obtain a good result.”

League break and objectives

“The result at the weekend will give us a two-week hangover until the next match.  We’re close to our objective, and the important thing is to keep moving forward, there are still games left, and we have the added incentive that these points could mean salvation.  We must always stay positive.  However, at the end of the game we won’t know for definite, so we must continue on.”

Pablo Fornals, with Spain’s under-21s

“We’re thrilled for Pablo that he’s been called-up to represent his country.  It’s another step forward in his career which I think will help him to improve, so he continues to grow and better himself as a player.”
