The young Málaga CF player is enjoying “an amazing year” as he gets called-up by Spain’s under-21s: “As I said to the coach, it’s a reward for the hard work this season.”
The Málaga CF midfielder has been called-up to Albert Celades’ under-21s for two European Championship qualifiers. The first is against Croatia on 24th March at 'El Plantío' stadium (Burgos), and the second is against Norway on 28th March at the Nueva Condomina stadium in Murcia.
Good news
“We just finished training before the talk with Vicente del Bosque, and when I got to the dressing room I switched on my phone and saw the first team line-up, followed by ours, which is when I saw my name and was thrilled.”
Pride
“Defending your country, particularly in matches with such great significance in Europe is amazing. Any player wants to be called-up to their national team at least once in their career.”
Congratulations
“All my teammates have congratulated me and hugged me. They told me I’d be great, and to continue doing what I do here every day.”
Reward
“As the coach said, it’s a reward for the hard work all season.”
Reuniting with Dani Ceballos in the under-21s
“I had the opportunity of playing with him in the Andalucían selection and we have a great friendship. He congratulated me straight away, and coincidentally, we’ll be playing against him tomorrow and I’ll give him a hug.”
Dream season
“I didn’t expect the chance to debut, score a goal, have such great continuity with the first team, or receive this call. It’s an amazing year.”
