Javi Gracia: “We want to reflect the good feelings with points”

‘Malaguista’ coach, Javi Gracia held a press conference this afternoon in La Rosaleda’s press room: “I’m expecting an interesting and attractive match against Eibar”, says the Navarra-born manager.

Duel in Ipurúa

“Every situation is different, but we have to try and do things better and know where we’re going tomorrow, at what is a complicated ground against a very strong side at home, in order to claim the points in play.”

Good feelings

“After the last few games we said that we were on the right track, but the most important thing is to earn points, which is our objective.  The schedule has been difficult in the first round of the competition, but we want to improve our record, and now’s the time to do it.  We want to reflect the good feelings with points.”

Atsu, new to the line-up

“He’s a young player who is still lacking training session in order to see his skills at 100 per cent.  He has the qualities we were looking for in him, speed, skill in the one on one situations and he has a great willingness to work hard and help the team.”

Eibar, a good rival

“It’s going to be an interesting and attractive match as we’re up against a good rival.  Eibar are a team who I think will stay up as they do things well; not just the fact they are very organised but they have qualities to destabilise the rival upfront with good goal-scorers and on the wings.  Despite not being capable of winning our last few games, I’m optimistic this is a good time for us.”

Absences in defence

“These are circumstances that exist.  I’m not going to regret any absences, I am confident in our team, despite variations in defence.  I think the players who will be in action will perform well, and I have every faith in them.”
