Iznata and Navarrete, commitment and memories for Málaga Femenino

Raúl Iznata assumes the coordination of Málaga CF’s women’s division, and accompanying him as team ambassador is Manuel Hernández Navarrete, a true icon of Málaga CF Femenino.

Raúl Iznata and Manuel Hernández Navarrete are two names associated with the Málaga CF brand for the history they wrote with Málaga CF Femenino. A past and future of the women’s section, and now also a present. Both form a pairing with extensive knowledge of this department, with the objective being to ‘malagueñizar’ the first team, create solid youth teams and emphasise the name of Málaga CF in women’s football.

As such, Raúl Iznata will take charge of coordinating this section. Rooted within the Malaguista Family, he knows the women’s market first-hand and has experience in the Blue and white dugout within this section. A former Málaga CF, CD Numancia and Rayo Vallecano player, as well as his vast knowledge of the pitch, he also knows how to lead a team. He has been coach within Málaga CF’s youth ranks and in the 2016/17 season took charge of technical direction and sports coordination for Málaga CF Femenino. Since the 2017/18 season until 2019/20, he has been coordinator of the MCF School and Atlético Malagueño delegate. In addition, his charismatic character makes him one of the personalities who attends the Blue and White Values talks every year for the MCF Foundation.

For his part, one of the icons of this section returns as an ambassador. Manuel Hernández Navarrete assumes this position, having laid the foundations for what is now the team. Throughout his life he has been linked to coaching, heading up teams within the Martiricos entity since 1975. He joined the world of women’s football in 1991, when the Andalusian Federation asked him to form a regional team, from which Atlético Málaga emerged. Showing his solidarity, Manolo really got behind the sport and created a winning team, with Atlético Málaga winning the triple in Spain in the 1998-99 season (Superliga, Copa de la Reina and Supercopa).

Together with Nati Gutiérrez as first coach and Raúl Iznata, they make up a Malagueño and Malaguista trio committed to women’s football.
