The Atlético Malagueño captain reviews the victory against Peña Deportiva by three goals to nil, in the 2B promotion play-offs.
Morale boost
“As well as victory, the team needed a boost like this after the match in Segovia. I think we played a great game, we’re a good team and I’m happy. We were aware it would be a different match, that it would be a struggle there, as we’ve experienced in away games in our League. It’s always harder to achieve victory away from home. However, we gained a good result in the first leg, and here at our ground we were most unforgiving”.
Good defensive work
“After the four goals we conceded in Segovia, we were determined to maintain a clean sheet. We defended well and I’m pleased with that too”.
Confidence and unity
“When you rise up from a fall, you usually learn a lot. The team is more unified, and we certainly showed it. We’ve got a great deal of confidence, which we proved throughout the League and over the years. With the style of football that we play, this ground suits us very well. The fans are behind us all the way, and I believe we can beat any team”.
