Malaguista coach, Pablo Guede held a press conference this Friday ahead of #LeganésMálaga.
Firstly, he analysed the rival, CD Leganés of whom he said that “it’s going to be a difficult rival, who are very clear about their gameplay. We’re going to try to counter that based on how we played last Saturday, which was great. We want to bolster our skills and try to improve on the mistakes we made,” he added.
Delving a little deeper into the #LeganésMálaga clash, he stated: “It’s going to be a very intense match. They are a very balanced team on all lines, with decisive players like Arnaiz and Pardo. When they pile the pressure on, they really pile it on. We have to try and play our game. We’re going to try and impose our gameplay based on intensity and rapid recovery. Hopefully we’ll have a little more possession than last time.”
Guede talked about the presence of Luis Muñoz after his long absence due to injury. “It’s good he’s back and I’ve included him in the squad list. This is a reward for his recovery and this week of training. There’s a long way to see if he’ll play. We’ll see how he feels over the coming weeks. I hope we’ll be able to count on him at some point, he’s made a huge effort to recover,” he stated.
The Blue and White coach focuses on the day to day. “We can’t think beyond Leganés. We can't waste time on whether it's a good week or a bad week from here until it's over. The league will put us in our place when the season’s finished,” he added.
Guede knows the team is very involved: “There’s a dynamic that has to be followed. The players are very good, they’re there to work. There’s no indication this will change.”
When asked about what he liked most about his first match heading up the Malaguistas, he replied: “The fact we were all square at 2-2 and they didn’t give up, I loved that. That’s Málaga. When we were 2-0 up, with that necessity to win, Valladolid went level and we never threw in the towel. I was proud of the players.”
“I’m not going to ask for any player. The Club has its technical secretary, who does a great job. I trust them implicitly. I didn't come to ask, I came to give. I’ll give everything I have to the Club”, he replied when asked about new signings.
