Gámez: "We need to work together to get the three points to see us to glory”.

Fuengirola-born right-winger, Jesús Gámez, held a press conference this Wednesday morning, in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium.

Statements from Jesús Gámez

Special week
“The entire team, as well as our fans, has wished for this moment.  We have an amazing opportunity ahead of us, and Sunday’s match could make Club history.  We need to work together to get the three points to see us to glory, keep our feet on the ground, and not take anything for granted.  Sporting will be fighting until the end, in what will be a difficult match. We need to keep calm and play as well as we can, though we’re fully aware of the importance and significance of this game”.

Positive pressure
“I said at the beginning of the season, that our last League match would be tough.  But we’re fighting for very different objectives now than in previous years.  We need to really enjoy this chance we’ve got now, and not make any mistakes.  One thing is knowing we’re capable of winning, but it’s quite another in practice.  We need to dominate the match for the entire 90 minutes”.

Personal moment
“It’s a really good time for me, every time I have the chance to play, all I focus on is helping the team as much as I can”.

Referees
“The referees are there to do their job, and we need to let them do it.  If any errors are made, it all evens out over the League season.  They also have a difficult match to referee on Sunday, so we need to leave them to do their job”.

Euphoria
“We’ve been thinking about this moment for so long, as have the fans!  La Rosaleda will be completely full on Sunday, and we hope we can make history and qualify for the Champions League.  We’re now in an amazing position, where we need to pull out all the stops to win.  Our fate is in our hands, and we need to do everything in our power to achieve our goal”.
