Juan Francisco Funes Arjona (Loja, Granada, 1983) is the new head coach of Málaga Club de Fútbol’s first team for the current 2025/26 season.
The coach joined the Club in the 2020/21 season to take charge of Atlético Malagueño, where he reached the promotion playoffs in each of his seasons at the helm, eventually achieving promotion to the Segunda RFEF last season. Under his guidance, a large number of players have developed and made the jump to the first team, whether in training sessions, call-ups, or official matches for Málaga CF.
Juan Francisco Funes is a coach specialised in developing young players, deeply committed to the Blue and White colours and with a thorough knowledge of the Club’s structure and its footballers.
Hard work and humility will continue to drive the commitment to the MCF Academy as a fundamental pillar of Málaga Club de Fútbol’s sporting project.
