Febas: “A weight has been lifted, it was a final”

The Blue and White number ‘10’ spoke to the media after #MálagaPonferradina. “It was a much-needed victory, we hadn't won for a long time and the people were suffering, but we need more,” he stressed.

Aleix Febas, Málaga CF midfielder, appeared in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda following the 1-0 win against SD Ponferradina.

“We’re exhausted, we gave our all. We knew that the game was life or death,” he started out by saying, while acknowledging that there is “satisfaction from getting the three points.”

“The important thing was the three points,” he continued along the same lines in his second response. “Based on the results, only victories will do, particularly at home. The details hadn’t gone our way, yet today they did,” he analysed.

The number '10' doesn’t hesitate to describe it as “a much-needed victory,” because “we hadn't won for a long time and the people were suffering. We need more, winning two or three games on the bounce will help us see things differently, but for now they remain the same,” he stressed.

“Faces of joy” is what he has seen in the dressing room, as “it was a very important game against a direct rival.” He continued by saying that “we were patient, solid and bided our time. Luck went our way and we worked hard to maintain our lead,” he added about the #MálagaPonferradina clash.

“I’m here to do my bit for the team. I’m very comfortable here, yet things are not going the way we want them to,” he said regarding his position on the pitch today as a midfielder. He went on to say that “the group is united despite the adversities.”

Next week the team will have “more of a boost thanks to this win. A weight has been lifted, it was a final that we won,” he concluded.
