Fabrice: “I was absolutely determined to score”

Málaga’s Cameroon-born Fabrice Olinga was the goal-scorer in tonight’s friendly against Wydad Casablanca, at the Mohamed V Stadium. The player spoke to MCF TV after the game, as did Club Adviser, Abdullah Ben Barek, on his return to his home country.

Fabrice

The reserve player stresses the importance of scoring tonight: “I was absolutely determined to score, it’s been a long time since I’ve got a goal and the coach’s faith in me really has helped a lot.”  The talented striker from Cameroon adds: “I try and work as hard as I can every day and gain more minutes on the pitch, and when the coach needs me, then I’ll support the team as much as I can,” explains Fabrice, who was amazed by the “spectacular atmosphere” in the stadium.

With regards to Bobley Anderson, who he has spent a lot of time with since his arrival, Fabrice comments: “He’s really pleased to be back here, although he was a bit nervous at the start.  The fans really love him here, and that’s so important to him.”

Ben Barek

Club Adviser, Abdullah Ben Barek was also thrilled to return to his home country, to relive his days as a player and national coach: “It’s been a while since I’ve visited Casablanca, as I’m from Rabat which is about 90 kilometres from here.  I played international football with Rabat, so I’ve got some wonderful memories as we had some great times here.”

Barek received a very warm welcome from the local fans on his arrival in Casablanca: “I was with the national team for seven years, so I think I made my mark on the fans here.  Everyone is so friendly and made me so welcome, and I thank God that I have these amazing memories.”
