Sportextremadura take victory in stoppage time (1-2)

Málaga CF Femenino lost to Sportextremadura CD, leaders of Group 3 in the Segunda Federación, on league matchday 7.

The Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF hosted a match that kicked off at 16:00. Héctor Díaz set up a starting-11 with María Arrabal in goal; Encarni, Belén, Yoli Peche, and Farfán © in defence; Lorena Herrera in the pivot role, with Alicia, Arantxa, Andrea Herrero, and Elena forming a four-player offensive line; and Futu leading the attack.

After the first 15 minutes of back and forth, the visitors from Extremadura took control of the scoreboard with a goal from Alba Zafra (0-1, 20’). Around the half-hour mark, Futu, starting today despite usually coming off the bench, nearly equalised with a close-range strike.

Before half-time, a psychological goal for MCFF. The Madrid-born forward Elena scored her first goal of the season, one she had been seeking since the start of the campaign (1-1, 44’).

In the second half, Málaga CF worked to score a second goal against a well-organised rival that offered very few openings. Arantxa, always dangerous on set pieces, came close with a free kick in the 68th minute.

However, in the third minute of the eight added minutes of the second half, the blow came in the form of a goal from visiting player Daysy (1-2, 93’). A result that didn’t do justice to what was seen at the Blue and White ground.

Málaga CF remain with 7 points in the lower part of the table after 7 matches in Group 3 of the Segunda Federación Femenina.
