“The first step has already been taken; now I just want to enjoy it”

Ramón Enríquez spoke to the media present at the opening of the ‘Gran Feria Sabor a Málaga’ on the Paseo del Parque in Málaga. “The best of me hasn’t been seen yet, but it’s coming. I’m working to make sure of that,” he stated.

Happy

“It has been a tough, complicated time, but the good thing is that I’m fine. I feel good, happy with my teammates, being included in the squads and having played. Looking ahead and moving forward.”

Team

“They were two important matches that, in the short term, were going to define us. The results haven’t been good, but on a personal level, I’m happy with how I’ve been feeling.”

Work

“I was just waiting to see myself in there, for everything to be in its place and going well. I was aware that there are processes, and everything happens; there has been a lot of work and dedication, and I knew this moment would come.”

Pellicer

“It has been important. The coach has given me a lot of calm, he told me to recover well, and I’m very grateful to the coaching staff for this process.”

Captaincy and performance

“From within, I've seen many captains, and I never imagined I could be here, and it’s an honour to be captain (...) Everyone is performing very well. Step by step, adding minutes, loads, and with time, we will be even better.”

Midfielders

“The level of the homegrown players has been amazing, as well as Juanpe and Luca (Sangalli), they are training very well. We feel comfortable with each other. It's good to have a lot of competition and high-level players in the position.”

Personal

“Little by little, I've already taken the first step to return. Now I just want to enjoy and focus on football.”

Last season and the current one

“Last year was quite tough. I had to take on the role of captain and help my teammates. We all dreamed of promotion, but we are aware that the first goal is survival.”

Almería and individual

“I'm really looking forward to Sunday, to La Rosaleda, in front of our fans, and going for the three points (...) The best of me hasn't been seen yet, and I believe it’s coming. I’m working with all my energy and determination to make it happen.”
