Einar: “We have to enjoy the victory with our feet on the ground”

The Blue and White centre-back spoke at a press conference after #MálagaGranada. “To experience football like this in front of our fans is a joy, and it’s everything a footballer wants,” he said.

Great performance

“Like the team, when everyone performs at this level, everyone making the right decisions, with intensity and quality beyond the ordinary against elite players, everything becomes easier.”

Staying up

“It feels much closer now. I don’t want to take anything for granted. In football, anything can happen. Now we have the most important match left, against an opponent who has everything to play for. To experience football like this in front of our fans is a joy, and it’s everything a footballer wants.”

Caution

“A very important win, especially because of the way we achieved it. We knew we had a lot at stake, survival isn’t secured yet, but this is a much bigger boost. Stay calm, enjoy it, we know how hard it is, and we must enjoy the victories with our feet on the ground, taking these feelings with us to Elda.”

Great first half

“In the first half, the only thing we can criticise is not having a bigger lead at half-time. In the second half, the best chances were also ours. The team played an excellent match. These are two crucial games, and this six out of six makes the fans very happy, as well as everyone who’s supporting us behind the scenes.”

Mother’s Day

“The people in the offices always lend a hand, and they really like these initiatives (mother’s surname on the shirt). I sent the photo to my mum, and the victory is the best gift for Mother’s Day. I love her very much.”
