Duda: “We’re all extremely excited about the future”

Málaga CF captain, Duda, held a press conference this afternoon in Bitburg, Germany, where Bernd Schuster’s men are undertaking pre-season training.

The Blue and Whites’ midfielder makes reference to the three players who arrived in Germany last night, Santa Cruz, Camacho and Anderson: “It’s always important that we have experienced players on the team, and we’re fortunate again this season to have Roque and Camacho, as well as the new signing.  The squad isn’t yet complete, and other members that join us and support the team would be most welcome.”

Duda isn’t ‘afraid’ of the Club’s new project: “For the past two years we’ve been fighting to get to the top, and we achieved our goal.  Even though some important players have left, we’ve still got a lot of quality players on the team, new signings who are eager to prove themselves, and we’re all extremely excited about the future.”  With regards to the pre-season training in Bitburg, Duda explains: “The sessions are basically the same as in previous years, the first two weeks are always busy for the physiotherapists, as we all do a lot of running.  The coaching team is welcoming everyone with open arms, and we’re going to have a fantastic season under their instruction.”

Regarding the new coach and the team, the Portuguese-born player adds: “We’re all determined to keep playing a high standard of football, but we’re still focused on very physical training at the moment.  Looking at other teams the coach has worked with, ball possession is always dominant, and it’ll be the same with us.”

Speaking about his contract renewal with Málaga CF: “The Club has a lot of trust in me, and I can’t wait to get out on the pitch and do what I enjoy best.”
