Antunes: “I’m really happy to be with Málaga”

Málaga CF’s Antunes held a press conference this morning during the team’s pre-season stage in Bitburg.

The Portuguese-born winger states: “I’m feeling great so far during pre-season training; I’m tired, but that’s normal with such a high-intensity training programme.  It’s important we all work as hard as we can to resume full fitness ahead of the League season.”

Antunes is pleased he renewed his contract with Málaga: “It’s great as I really wanted to stay.  I’m really happy to be with Málaga, and looking forward to performing well this season, even better than last season.  I’m focusing on working as hard as I can here to be prepared for the start of the competition.”

The Blue and Whites’ player is happy with the team: “There are a lot of young people combined with more experienced players; which makes a good team.  I’m very positive about the season ahead.”  With regards to the new coach, Antunes adds: “We all want to show him what we can do in order to get the opportunity to play, which is good thing.”

He also highlights the importance of the fans’ support: “It’s crucial that our fans are so loyal and supportive of the team, it really gives us a boost to play the best football we can and achieve as much as possible.  Every player wants to play a brilliant match every week for the fans to enjoy; their support is extremely important to us.”

Antunes is full of ambition for the upcoming season: “I hope to score lots of goals.  I’m feeling great, as is the whole team.”
