As is tradition, Atlético Malagueño and Málaga CF Femenino visited the Divina Pastora, patron saint of sport, following their respective promotions to 2ªB and the Liga Iberdrola.
Following the celebrations from last Sunday, it was time for the ceremonial celebrations for Málaga CF Femenino and Atlético Malagueño. In two memorable matches, both teams secured promotion and made history with the Blue and Whites’ Entity.
On a long day of celebrations, the two squads, with their corresponding coaching teams, boarded a double decker bus, courtesy of Vázquez Olmedo, to arrive together at the Divina Pastora parish.
Press and fans were waiting at the door, together with elder brother, Juan Antonio Navarro, who addressed those present with a few congratulatory words before the event.
All the players, one by one, presented a bouquet of flowers to the feet of the patron saint, whilst captains of both teams, Iván Rodríguez and Adriana Martín, placed the large floral offering in representation of the Club.
Finally, every member of the expedition, including director of The Academy, Antonio Tapia, Club advisers, Antonio Benítez, Abdullah Ben Barek and Francisco Martín Aguilar and various managers and employees within the Malaguista youth ranks, posed together at the altar for a large group photo.
