Back to playing
“I’m happy. After so much time out with the injury, I missed being on the pitch and enjoying myself. When you’re sidelined, you see things differently and all you want is to come back and feel good.”
Good return to work
“We talked about it this week. We’ve come back really well from the break. The group is a great foundation, and that showed clearly today.”
Steady progress
“I’m keeping my feet on the ground. After the injury, I just want to keep getting minutes, building up my fitness and getting back the right feeling, but this has been perfect. A win and a goal. I’m eager to keep working and building up my match rhythm.”
Competition is important
“That’s what it’s all about. There are a lot of us. Competition is good because it brings out the best in everyone. One day it’s me, another day it’s someone else. But we’re all fighting for a common goal.”
New teammates
“They’ve adapted really quickly. I felt very comfortable with them today and during training. Really good. They’re going to contribute a lot.”
No specific goals, just daily work
“I don’t put pressure on myself. I try to take it day by day and enjoy it. Last year I had that mindset, but there were a lot of injuries and unexpected setbacks that kept me from showing my best version. I just try to give my best and hope that helps the team.”
