D. Larrubia: “We have to keep working hard; we’re confident we’ll turn this around”
Málaga’s No.10 spoke to the media after #RacingMálaga. “We’re really eager to play in front of our fans and feel their support,” he said.
Fifth consecutive defeat
“In the first half we did very well with the ball, we were the better side in that opening stretch. What we lacked was finishing our chances before the sending-off. In the second half, against a team like Racing, it’s hard to take anything positive when you’re playing with one man less. We tried, but it wasn’t possible.”
“We need more sharpness inside the box. We have to keep working hard; it’s only matchday 8. We are Málaga, and we need to win. We’re convinced we’ll get out of this negative run and, after today’s defeat, we’ve only heard positive messages: we’re more united than ever. We understand the criticism, but we’re confident we’ll turn this around.”
Team’s shortcomings
“I think we were doing well, we were competing. But individual mistakes are what punish you in matches. Those errors are costing us, and we need to improve.”
Message to the fans
“We know there will be criticism, and we understand the demands that come with belonging to a club as big as Málaga. We want the fans to stand with us; we’re really eager to play in front of our fans and feel their support. We know competing against every team in this division is tough. We ask for unity: it’s a bad run, but we’ll get through it. We want them to trust us.”
