Contreras: “I’m happy with the work, but football has been unfair to the players”

The Málaga CF Femenino coach reviewed the match against Sporting de Huelva at the Federación ground: “I believe we dominated play, they generated opportunities, but from set pieces. It’s been a tough year for the players”.

Equaliser in 94’

“The goal, at the time it arrived and after the previous save by Chelsea, allows us to see where this team deserves to be. However, that corner led to a result my players didn’t deserve. We must carry on, there are two matches remaining and nothing is decided”.

Match analysis

“I believe we dominated play. Huelva generated opportunities, particularly from set pieces. I’m happy with the work but annoyed for the girls as they’re having a tough year and football has been unfair to them”.

Next rival

“The line to follow in Bilbao is to go there and win the game, knowing it’s a difficult ground and everything will depend on you. I still think we’ll continue to have options until the last home game, and that’s when we’ll have to fight”.

Message to fans

“Today is a day to feel proud of this team and the incredible fans that came here and stayed until the 94th minute. I think they’ll be angry as they saw a group of players who gave their all, yet today football was unfair to them”.
