Five thousand Malaguistas discover the 'Retro 25' with Dely and Darío

A special open-door event at La Rosaleda Stadium, where around 5,000 people watched Málaga CF's training session, ended with a surprise: Dely Valdés and Darío Silva presented the club's new retro jersey.

An unforgettable Tuesday 25th February, with a large presence of fans and supporters in the stands of Martiricos, especially the younger ones enjoying their Semana Blanca holiday.

Around 5,000 spectators gathered in the lower sections of the Preferencia and Fondo Norte stands of the stadium to watch Sergio Pellicer's team in action. The fans cheered on the team throughout the training session, in a celebration of Malaguismo that ended with a spectacular grand finale.

At the end of the session, the new Blue and White 'Retro 25' jersey by hummel was unveiled, commemorating Málaga CF's 25 years in the Spanish football elite. The legendary 'Doble D,' Dely Valdés and Darío Silva, the most successful goal-scoring duo in the club's history in the First Division, presented the brand-new kit wearing their iconic numbers, '25' and '9.'

The team formed a guard of honour for Dely and Darío, who were visibly emotional as they stepped back onto the Martiricos pitch. “Very special, incredible. The jersey, when I saw it... It was the only year I wore this number (25) when I arrived in Málaga in the 2000/01 season. Very good memories, that year I scored many goals,” said the Panamanian to MCFTV. “A different feeling. It's 25 years, and I always have this club in my heart. Very happy to see so many young people who want to enjoy football,” said the Uruguayan.

The team and the 'Doble D' didn’t stop signing autographs and taking photos, along with 'Súper Boke,' to the delight of the youngest fans. The commemorative jersey worn by both Dely and Darío is now available for purchase from today at the MCF Store at La Rosaleda and the Málaga CF online store. A heartfelt reminder of the past that, thanks to hummel, is brought back to the present.
