Chory: “We have to maintain the attitude we had today”

The Blue and Whites’ midfielder appeared in the mixed zone after #CeltaMálaga: “We need to fight until the last match”.

Salvation

“Getting to safety is complicated. We are all aware of the difficulties. It’s up to us whether we give up or not. The attitude the team showed today is the one we have to maintain, if not, the last games of the season will be an ordeal, which is what we don’t want. We need to fight until the last match, and if possible, score the three points from here on in. We were up against a tough opponent today who played very well. A draw under any other circumstances would have been good, but it’s not enough for us”.

League break

“Claiming this point allows us to approach the next two weeks with a different mentality. We played well, kept the rival away from goal, yet in the end our fatigue and the quality of their players upfront meant they generated an opportunity to score. However, we stayed alive until the final whistle. Max had the last chance to take the three points. After Villarreal we’ll know if these two weeks have been good or not”.

One point

“We have to hold on to something, and we’re holding on to this point. Hopefully it will raise our spirits, but we really needed all three points, yet it wasn’t to be. Looking at it tomorrow, and the rival we were up against, we’ll value it more”.

Good image

“It’s complicated. The maths still says it’s possible, but the important thing is to convey this image and fight for every match. We were facing a quality rival, and within a fortnight will compete against Villarreal. It’s going to be tricky. We need to keep searching for the three points and get down to work, to ensure the closing stages of the League aren’t such a struggle”.

Fight

“It’s not easy, but it’s what we must do. Our heads must be totally focused on our work. If we give up now, the end of the season will be very tough. It’s within us, within our profession. We owe the Club and the fans who continue to support and accompany us. We will try and give them something back. It’s going to be hard, but we must fight. Trying to keep every match alive and win the three points”.
