Chory: “There are many points left, we need to keep believing”

The Blue and Whites’ player appeared before the media in the mixed zone at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, following the match against Getafe: “We’re not giving up, this team continues to believe” he says.

Harsh defeat

“Nothing is impossible. Another tough defeat because, if you say the rivals are far superior to you, or you are overcome at all times by teams and the defeat was easy, that’s another thing altogether. We are seeing that they are even matches, at times we deserve more, but you end up losing a play. Today it was from a set piece, the other day it was in minute 5 on the rival’s first attack. This is costing us a lot, but we need to lift our heads up and keep working. It’s been an incredibly difficult first round, but we hope this changes in the second round”.

Keep believing

“We’re not giving anything up as lost as there are many points in play. I’ve experienced very similar situations. With Mallorca we had 14 points from the first round, and ended with 51. We need to keep believing. Until the last match is played, nothing is decided”.

Stick together

“We must believe in everyone here. Nobody is going to arrive with a magic wand to save us. It’s more important than ever now to stick together, close ranks and cling to the belief that we can do it and things will change”.

Mood of the team

“We’re angry as the situation is so difficult. Nobody at the beginning of the season would have thought we’d have ended the first round like this. We must stay strong mentally, now more than ever, to stand our ground and go out there with another mindset. We know the second round is going to be tough”.

Details

“I wish we knew why the three points keep escaping us. We will continue to work hard to correct every detail, as we’re aware that one little mistake costs us matches”.

New teammates

“I think they’ll contribute, they’re here to help the team, but one or two players won’t come and save us. It’s clear that we need to get out of this situation together. That said, these players will do their bit, so we can start to make a change”.

Not giving up

“I don’t think anyone has lost faith, particularly in the dressing room. This team continues to believe due to the simple fact that the matches we’re losing are being lost because of details. Rivals aren’t being superior and crushing us in every game. We hope everything changes”.
