Coach José González to take charge of the first team

The Club has reached an agreement, in the absence of formalising the contract, with the Andalusian coach, who has experience in LaLiga and knows the house as a player.

José González López (14/19/1966, Cádiz) will take charge of the first team on the return to training next week. As such, the coach has the entire second round of the competition to turn the team dynamic around.

The coach experienced a similar situation in the 2015/16 season with Granada CF, where he arrived 13 games away from the league final, with the team in last place and five points away from salvation. González led a change in Granada, allowing the team to remain in the category a matchday in advance.

In the 2016/17 season, José González lived an international experience as coach of BJ Sinobo Guoan, in the growing Chinese First Division, a league of expansion, where he coincided with some of the great stars of world football.

González knows the Malaguista house well, as he was a Blue and Whites’ player in the 1995/96 season, under the orders of current Club adviser, Antonio Benítez.

Lots of luck in this new stage with the Malaguista family, Míster!
