Chavarría is staying with us!

The striker, whose contract with the Club was due to end on 30th June, will remain with the Blue and White entity until the end of the 22/23 season.

Pablo Alejandro Chavarría (Argentina, 1988) arrived at Málaga CF at the end of September 2020 from RCD Mallorca, where he competed in LaLiga Santander during the 19/20 campaign.

The Argentinean, with an Italian passport, soon found his place in the Blue and White starting-11 in the 20/21 season. His versatility and dexterity on the attack made him an indispensable part of the team in the first part of the season. Pablo scored four goals and provided two assists in 21 LaLiga SmartBank matches, and scored another memorable goal in the Copa del Rey at La Rosaleda against Real Oviedo that took the team to the next round.

On 1st March, at Anduva against CD Mirandés, Chavarría sustained a serious injury, tearing the cruciate ligament in his left knee mid-match. The striker had to bid farewell to the season whilst in his prime, losing his professional registration on the team following the incorporation of Stefan Scepovic.

The number ‘12’ has been undergoing rehabilitation for more than three months, working extremely hard and in good spirits at La Rosaleda under the supervision of the Málaga CF medical team. His desire, and that of the Malaguista Family, is to quickly return to the pitch to defend the Blue and White jersey with courage and heart. Vamos, Pablo!
