Camacho: “I have no doubt I’ll get back to my best”
‘Malaguista’ midfielder, Ignacio Camacho held a press conference at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium ahead of this Thursday evening’s training session.
The player was asked various questions. With regards to whether he’ll play on Saturday at Mestalla, Camacho comments: “The team has significant players who are unable to play, and I don’t know if I’ll be match-ready. I’ve been training at the same level as my teammates for the past two weeks, but I’m still not at 100 per cent.”
Camacho expresses his thanks for the Club’s support during his recovery from injury: “I’ve been treated extremely well and the Club has given me everything I need. I am very pleased and the Club has been great.” When asked whether he will return to his best following this injury, the player states: “I have no doubt I’ll get back to my best. If I didn’t think that was the case then I’d have to stop playing football, but I’m convinced I’ll return to my top form.”
Camacho was asked about the team’s performance during his absence: “This year we’ve had new players join us and the coach is working a great deal in order to get the best out of us. With hard work, we’ll return to playing impressive matches like we did against Real (Sociedad).”
Referring to Valencia, the player explains: “Competing against a rival of this level is a big motivation as we’ve got a lot to gain; bringing home a win from such a difficult stadium to secure two consecutive victories. We have the right tools to compete against Valencia. We’ve already played two good games against major rivals like Madrid and Barça.”
Lastly, the Blue and Whites’ number ‘6’ talks about young reserve team player, Pablo Fornals: “He’s performing incredibly well, has a great attitude and wants to learn. That’s what he needs to focus on now; learning and growing each day.”
