Big win for the reserve team against Torreperogil (3-0)

Atlético Malagueño defeated Torreperogil CD on matchday 2 of the final phase – permanency – in the Third Division, at the Federación Malagueña this Wednesday afternoon. Vicario, Cruz and Eu scored the Malaguista goals.

Funes and Bravo’s lads were superior in all aspects of play, against a rival who barely approached Dani Strindholm’s goal, as the keeper made his season debut. The starting-11 was made up of Dani, Antoñito, Murillo, Mini (c), Eu, Juan Cruz, Larrubia, Víctor Olmo, Rafa Camacho, Julio and Vicario.

Before kick-off, the players wore t-shirts in support of Alberto García, as the midfielder underwent surgery on Monday on a tear to the Achilles tendon (left leg), that puts him out of action for the remainder of the season.

The first goal wasn’t long in coming. The work of Vicario from a precise header after an excellent Víctor Olmo cross on the left (1-0, 5’). Juan Cruz, on great form, scored the second Blue and White goal just before the half-hour mark (2-0, 27’).

At the start of the second half, a Juan Cruz corner was converted into a goal by Eu, sealing the team’s win (3-0, 49’).

After an away win against Huétor Tájar last weekend, Malagueño have claimed their second win on the bounce during this second part of the 20/21 season. The boys are away from home on Sunday against CD Huétor Vega.
