Javi Ramos named new MCFF coach

The new coach will head up the women’s first team for the remainder of the current 20/21 season.

Javier Ramos Cano (Benalmádena, Málaga, 1985) signed his new contract at the Club’s offices, accompanied by Sports Director, Manolo Gaspar and Raúl Iznata, coordinator of MCF women’s football.

Javi Ramos will hit the ground running and kick off his new role today directing his first training session, alongside new second coach, Marina Gallardo, who up to now has been at the helm of MCFF’s 4ª Cadete side that competes against male teams.

Javi is well-known within the Malaguista Family, as a former player in the ranks of Málaga B and also playing with the Málaga CF first team. His debut, in the unforgettable 07/08 campaign, went like a dream. He scored the winning goal (1-2 victory for Málaga against Tenerife at the Rodríguez López) sealing a pass to the next round of the Copa del Rey.

More recently, a member of Málaga CF Forever, Javi is a regular with the Malaguista veterans, winning a FEAFV Spanish championship title and also a runner-up place.

His challenge from here until the end of the season is to secure the girls’ place in Reto Iberdrola. Javi, we’re all with you and we’re going to do this! Let’s go for it!

Statements – Javi Ramos

“I’m very happy to return to where I consider my home, Málaga. Defending this shield is an honour. Now as coach I have that same passion and enthusiasm to give my all, like I did when I was on the pitch”.

“My aim is to convey that passion to the players, and do what I can so they gain confidence, which perhaps they’re lacking, as there’s sufficient potential to achieve the objective”.

“It’s a challenge I take on with huge responsibility. We have six matches left and need to score points to achieve the goal of staying in the category. I’m convinced that with this team we can do it”.
