Paul Baysse was officially presented this afternoon at Gran Hotel Benahavís. “My objective is to have a better season than last and enjoy every minute”, affirms the new Malaguista player.
The French central defender (see image gallery from his presentation here) was accompanied by Club advisers, Antonio Benítez and Abdullah Ben Barek, as well as sports director, Francesc Arnau, who defined Baysse as: “An experienced central defender, who combines intelligence and strength. I hope, with his know-how, in time he becomes a leader, both on and off the pitch, in the same way he used to be with his former team in France. He’s used to playing under pressure and winning, and he’s going to bring a great deal to the team”.

Arrival in Málaga
“It was the first time I left France, and it was important for me to know where I was going and get to know the Club. This is a brand new experience for me. I wanted to know where I was headed, also for my family. It was a very important decision to make. They showed me how keen they were for me to wear this jersey, and I also felt the need to wear these colours. I had a great feeling after my first visit, I saw it is a very familiar Club, with human values that represent me. My integration is going very well. It’s very important for me to feel this support”.
Experience
“I want to bring my momentum, my experience and my eagerness to enjoy playing football. I’ve been playing for a number of years now, and I want the Club to make the most of my experience. I hope to adapt quickly, immerse myself in the culture and get the best results as soon as possible”.
Objectives
“My goals are to play calmly, play many matches, I want to be the best I can be and fight for these colours, for Málaga CF and for the fans. The objective is to have a better season than last and enjoy every minute. Míchel? We’ve spoken, and the feeling he’s conveyed to me is that he’s very pleased I’m here. For a player that’s very important”.
Sporting aspect
“As I was free to choose, I had possibilities to go to foreign clubs who offered me more money, but in my career, I’ve always been drawn towards the sports and human side of a club, more so than a contract worth a lot of money. The most important thing is to feel at ease, happy and wake up every morning looking forward to training. I am moved more by the football and human side of things rather than the contractual”
