Málaga CF’s reserve team arrived in Ronda as Third Division Group IX leaders, and started off well with a goal in the 22nd minute by Ernesto, following a pass from Mauri on the right.
The state of the pitch didn’t help the Blue and Whites’ game play, but they still maintained the lead at half time.
The ‘Malaguistas’ didn’t take full advantage of the open spaces due to the locals’ defensive error. Blue and Whites’ keeper, Sergio, stopped an equaliser in minute 64 with an impressive save following a corner kick.
CD Ronda’s Lamine was shown his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute, leaving Malagueño with the advantage for the remainder of play.
The visitors couldn’t find the net for a second goal and CD Ronda stepped up their attack in search of an equaliser, making good use of the ball in the air. It was Poli who scored in minute 90, taking away two points from the ‘Malaguistas’.
Atlético Malagueño are now tied in second place with Marbella FC in Third Division Group IX, with 56 points, just one point behind leaders, Linares Deportivo.
