Atlético Malagueño gets ready for 2B promotion play-offs
The Blue and Whites’ reserve team, champions of Third Division Group IX with two games remaining until the end of the competition, will know their rival in the coming weeks in the fight to reach the bronze category.
Dely Valdés’ boys will have an intense month during May. Following an almost impeccable season and with the league championship in the bag, the team will face the final two games of the regular competition with an eye on the promotion play-offs to Second Division B.
Beforehand, on Saturday at 18:00 at the Federación Malagueña, the Blue and Whites will welcome Almería B (second place in Group IX). A week later, the boys are away to UD San Pedro for the final match of the regular league.
Promotion play-offs to 2B
The winners of each of the 18 groups in the Third Division will face a two-match knockout tie for a place in the bronze category of Spanish football. If they don’t achieve promotion after the first tie, the eliminated teams will have another possibility to go up in knockout rounds against the second, third and fourth-placed teams of each of the groups.

Together with Atlético Malagueño, Real Oviedo B, RCD Espanyol B, Yeclano and Unión Deportiva Multivera are the only teams who have secured their presence in the direct two-match knockout tie. Another 33 squads will fight, with two games remaining, to win their respective groups:
