Málaga CF Femenino drew 0-0 against Sporting Club de Huelva ‘B’ on matchday 21 of Segunda División Nacional Femenina Group IV. The point earned by the locals means the Malaguistas stay at the top of the standings with 56 points.
During the initial stages of play, both sides shared possession of the ball, and the Málaga and Sporting defence did a tremendous job in protecting their areas. The Blue and Whites began to feel more comfortable on the pitch, and from minute 20, took charge of the ball, but didn’t manage to convert to inaugurate the scoreboard. Pace of play increased some 10 minutes before half-time, and Adriana had the opportunity to net the 1-0 from a free kick, but the ball narrowly escaped the goal and at half-time the scoreboard stayed at 0-0.
In the second half, the Malaguistas came out with bite. They dominated possession and dangerously approached the Sporting area. Encarni had the first chance, but the ball landed in the hands of the rival keeper. Sporting attempted to intimidate within the Blue and Whites’ area, but came up against Chelsea, who saved Huelva’s cross shot without any complications. Antonio Contreras’ girls went from strength to strength in the second half, and in 58’, Adriana also had an opportunity to take the lead, but the free kick ended up in the hands of the Sporting goalkeeper. Málaga didn’t surrender and continued to accumulate chances, particularly on the part of Adriana. However, despite the constant attempts to break the Huelva defence and go in front, the match ended all square at 0-0.
