Alba: "In this team there’s eagerness, hard work and fellowship”
Get to know Alba Hoyas, the new Málaga Femenino goalkeeper.
The new Málaga CF Femenino goalkeeper, Alba Hoyas, started her footballing career without gloves, as a right-winger. Now her journey continues in Málaga, and she highlights the great atmosphere and excitement within the team ahead of the 2017/18 season. Today we look ‘under the microscope’ to learn more about her.
- When and why did you start playing football?
I started at the age of 9 or 10 with the team from my town. I started to play due to a knee injury I had due to a fall.
- Have you always been in goal, or did you start in another position?
Although it doesn’t seem real, I started out as a right-winger, but I realised that being a player wasn’t for me. What I liked to do was stop the ball. I decided to train hard and get into goal.
- Speaking of Málaga, why did you decide to continue your career here?
I made the decision to continue my career here because of the objectives and ambitions of the Club. It’s an opportunity to jump to the top flight. In addition, working under the orders of Antonio Contreras is a pleasure.
- How’s your first contact with the team been?
It’s been pretty good. I see a lot of eagerness, intensity, hard work and, above all, fellowship, which for me is fundamental in a team.
- What do you expect from the 2017-18 season?
Fulfilling all our objectives, all our expectations, and to continue growing and learning.
‘Under the microscope’…
Do you have any nickname your friends call you? They’ve always called me Albi or Hoyas.
A book… The one my grandfather gave me: Momo.
A band or song… Although it sounds strange, “No importa la distancia”.
A hobby other than football… Walking, going to the cinema, spending time with family and friends.
