A total of 13 teams will be taking part in the tournament, in search of one of two available passes to the final stage taking place in Oliva (Valencia) at the end of May.

Earlier today the ‘Juan Cortés’ Press Room at La Rosaleda stadium hosted the presentation of the Liga Solidaria FEAFV charity tournament, taking place on Saturday 7th April in the Málaga municipality of Alameda.

The presentation, which began with an emotional minute’s silence in memory of Nacho Pérez Frías, was attended by the president and vice president of the Málaga CF Forever, Ernesto Terrón and Fernando Fernández; sports delegate at the Diputación, Cristóbal Ortega; Mayor of Alameda, Juan Lorenzo; and the president of the FEAFV, Juan María Zorriqueta. In addition, also present were former Malaguista players and members of the Forever team, Koke Contreras, Dely Valdés, Raúl Iznata and Duda; and Atlético Malagueño player, born in Alameda, Iván Rodríguez. Club advisers; Antonio Benítez, Abdullah Ben Barek and Francisco Martín Aguilar also didn’t want to miss out on the presentation.

The Málaga CF Forever will host the league which will include the presence of veterans from Real Betis, Granada, Córdoba, Cádiz, Recreativo de Huelva, Ejido, Xerez, Marbesula, Balompédica Linense, Estepona, Cultural Marbella and Fuengirola. In total, over 200 players will be participating.

Details of the tournament

The tournament will be played under a ‘World Cup’ format, with four groups of three teams each. The leader of each group will pass directly to the semi-finals, and the two finalists will obtain a passport to the final stage of the national competition. The matches will be 30-minutes long, divided into two halves of 15 minutes each. The two teams that reach the final will win a direct pass to the final stage taking place in Oliva (Valencia) at the end of May.

Charity

The event will have a sporting, charitable and festive character. Therefore, the quality of play seen on the pitch at the "Antonio Soriano Melero" municipal ground in Alameda goes hand in hand with raising funds for three social groups: Asociación de Voluntarios de Oncología Infantil (AVOI), Asociación Resurgir (Proyecto Hombre de Antequera) and Asuntos Sociales del Ayuntamiento de Alameda. The donation to enter the ground is 3 euros, and as well as the matches there will be raffles and all sorts of surprises for those in attendance.
