Agility in goal with Alfonso Herrero

Málaga CF incorporates goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero into the first team. He arrives from CD Mirandés and has signed a contract with the Club for the next three seasons, plus the option of another.

Alfonso Herrero Peinador (Toledo, 1994) trained as a goalkeeper within the Real Madrid CF youth ranks, spending a decade (2003-13) in the lower teams of the White club. He has also been an international with Spain in the Under-19, Under-17 and Under-16 categories.

At just 19 years old, he had his first experience in the bronze division, in the ranks of Real Madrid 'C', appearing in 33 games (all complete, in the starting line-up) and accumulating almost 3,000 minutes of play in the 13/14 season.

Herrero ended his stage at the Merengue club as part of Real Madrid Castilla, competing in the 14/15 and 15/16 seasons, the latter as champion of Segunda B Group II, under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane and Luis Miguel Ramis.

In the silver category, he subsequently began a four-year term at Real Oviedo (2016-20). The Toledo-born goalkeeper knows Málaga after a spell with Marbella FC in 20/21 and in the previous two seasons he returned to LaLiga SmartBank, playing regularly for Burgos CF (21/22) and CD Mirandés (22/23).

After passing the relevant medical examination at Vithas Centro Médico La Rosaleda, Alfonso Herrero puts his reflexes, flexibility, and footballing maturity at the service of the Club, as he arrives at Málaga CF during the best moment of his career.

Welcome, and lots of luck, Alfonso!
