Right-back Gabilondo joins the Club
Málaga Club de Fútbol signs Jokin Gabilondo, a right-back who comes from the Real Sociedad de Fútbol reserve team, in ownership until 2025 with an option for another year.
The new Blue and White player passed the usual medical examination on Monday at Centro Médico Vithas Rosaleda, and signed his new contract at the stadium’s offices accompanied by the Club's sporting director, Loren Juarros.
Jokin Gabilondo Garmendia (Urretxu, Gipuzkoa, 1999) is a product of the fruitful Zubieta youth ranks, in which several footballers who have made a career in the Spanish footballing elite have trained.
At the age of 20, led by Xabi Alonso, he made his debut in the bronze division at Real Sociedad 'B' during the 19/20 season. The following season he played on loan, also in Group II of Segunda División B, at Arenas de Getxo.
In 21/22 he returned to 'Sanse' playing in 16 LaLiga SmartBank games, and another nine more for Real Sociedad 'C', which competes in 2ª RFEF and took part in the promotion playoffs that year.
In 22/23, in Primera Federación, Gabilondo completed a great individual season accumulating a total of 39 matches (37 in the League and two in the promotion playoffs) and more than 3,000 minutes of play, including four goals with Real 'B'.
Great projection and a lot of movement on the right wing for this young player, who has the ambition of continuing to grow as a player in Málaga. Welcome Jokin!
