As is the norm, following an initial physical workout, the team prioritised exercises using the ball, with 23 players under the orders of Míchel. Namely; goalkeepers, Kameni, Boyko and the reserve team’s Aarón, plus 20 players including homegrown players, Luis Muñoz and Javi Ontiveros. Llorente and Ricca are fully fit.

With regard to absences, the five usual players were not in training. Venezuelans; Rosales, Juanpi and Peñaranda remained in the gym, and Koné and Kuzmanovic were absent due to long-term injury.
