The referee disallowed the Malaguista central defender’s goal in the final stage of play: “I don’t think Mikel intervened in a decisive way in the play. It was a goal that should have moved us up the scoreboard”.

Fight until the end

“The feeling is bitter.  We deserved victory.  The fortune we’ve had in front of goal in other matches, clinching victories in the final minute, wasn’t to be today”.

Nullified goal in final minutes

“I started from two metres in respect of the offside line.  It was a clean shot and I don’t think Mikel intervened in a decisive way in the play It was a goal that should have moved us up the scoreboard.  The photos are there and each person will make their own conclusions”.

Rage

“It’s a feeling of rage.  You work hard all week in order to win the three points in play, and in the end a circumstance beyond your control prevents you from doing so.  However, it won’t stop us from continuing our line of work”.

Follow the same line

“You’ve seen the rage in how I celebrated the goal that was disallowed, which was a shame.  This will make us stronger and we’ll carry on doing the same”.

Good work

“We’re making ourselves strong at home, and trying to claim victories in away games is what we’re working on.  I think the line to follow is good, as is the work we’re doing”.

Next matches

“We’ve got two great matches coming up before the Christmas holidays.  We’ll face the derby against Sevilla in the way it deserves, and against Córdoba we’ll try to turn the result around”.
